Botox!!!
Yes, this is one of the treatments we offer where I work, so I decided why not do a mini write up and enjoy the privilege of having a colleague let me take before and after pictures of her!
What is Botox?
It's a prescriptive medication used to treat a wide range of issues from excessive sweating, spasms to wrinkles.
How does it work?
The Botox is injected into the muscle, which in turn blocks the nerve signals which cause the muscles to contract.
Who can have cosmetic Botox?
Most people between the ages of 18 upward, on consultant and clearance of a medical practitioner - the younger aged people tend to use it for preventative measures/anti-aging benefits and the older, for ironing out of fine lines and wrinkles.
What facial areas are the most common?
Frown Lines
Forehead
Crows Feet
Is it painful?
According to my colleague, not, it's a very small, fine needle and one barely feels anything at all.
How long does it last?
Anywhere between 4 - 6 months.
Are there any side effects?
Yes, as with all things, there are possible side effects e.g. dry mouth, headache etc..
Is it easily available?
Yes it is, make sure you go to a reputable establishment, and that the treatment is performed only by a registered medical practitioner.
